Recollection of the elements
Each painting in the series uses a unique combination of brush strokes and colours, deeply embodying elements that they evoke. There is a constant throughout the series, a cascade, a scale, shimmering variations of colour enriched with subtle reflects. The impressions created set up a resonance with the viewer's own distinctive sensitivity, leaving one in some way mesmerised.
“ I spend hours exploring colours, in miniature format on small pieces of linen canvas mimicking the effects and observing the rendering, sensing what combinations of palette will bring life to the elements I want to represent. Several tones are worked and mixed with different materials. I then work on large format with strokes in search of tension and colour allowing the energy, colour and movement to galvanise the painting “
